This is our new hotel Tortugal - we are sitting on the balcony having ceviche which is shrimp and avocado salad with pineapple and yoghurt licuado - and Moira had a BLT - nice!
This is San Felipe castle that the Spanish built to keep out our pirates.
If you look at this picture carefully you can see an iguana sunning himself on the palm leaf on the left looking at a pelican preening himself on the right - this tree was full of both creatures!
There must be loads of fish to support all this bird life!
We drove through a whole lagoon of these water lilies and kids paddled out to try to sell us shell bracelets.
You may have noticed that we have at last changed our clothes! We have reluctantly let go of our one fleece each which we have been wearing for the past 2 weeks for washing - hope we can survive the breeze until 5pm! This cool weather is unheard of here - it was in the 30s just a few days ago - until we got here - but actually it is quite pleasant for walking around so long as the rain holds off - maybe a swim off the pontoon tomorrow for me - the water is quite warm at least! We can walk into Fronteras over the bridge which is an ugly but lively town that we can wander around.
