View from the top

As usual, I (John) couldn't resist a walk up a hill.  A few steps up the mountain took me to the Mirador or viewpoint above the Semuc Champey pools.  Picture book stuff. 

 

And here were cocoa beans, growing all around.  Apparently the pods go yellow when they are ripe. 

We bought some chocolate from the locals.  Quite a nice chocolatey flavour but full of sugar.  Not quite the smooth quality of Montezuma's in Chichester!
